May 16th was my 1 year anniversary at my job. I waited all day for my boss, co-workers or city leadership to tell Happy Anniversary but no one said anything. It was 30 minutes before the end of my work day and I thought wow no one is going to say anything, then God spoke to me. Your reward does not come from man it comes from me. I began to look up in the bible the verse that confirmed this word and I found Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, ²⁴ knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve. Many people are seeking acknowledgment and acceptance from a man but it is God who gives us the gifts and talents that make us successful. Therefore, it is God who gets and gives all the glory. Let no man put value or worth on who God has called you to be.
